Greetings members and friends and a Happy New Year to all!

With a new year comes the planning for this year’s events. I would like to thank Alan Leys for asking our Association to participate in the Hall of
Horns Texas Longhorn Sale on March 24th at 5:00 p.m. at the Olds Agricultural Grounds. Anyone interested in consigning cattle contact Alan Leys at
(403) 935-4765 as soon as possible for information.

Our Annual General Meeting will be held the same day (March 24th) at 1:00 p.m. at the Evergreen Center on the agricultural grounds in Olds. I would
like to extend a welcome to the memberships as well as your friends who may be interested in attending the meeting. Please bring your thoughts and
ideas regarding what our association should be doing to promote this great breed.

The Texas Longhorns are back at the Steer-A-Year program at Olds College this year and are starting out great.

Sincerely, Ron Walker

Luke Massie Eagle Mountain Ranching Sangudo, Alberta
|
|
|
Luke Massie of Eagle Mountain Ranching has had Texas Longhorn cattle for approximately 4 years. He purchased his first longhorns from Panarama Ranch
and has about 160 cattle all together. Besides cattle, Eagle Mountain Ranch also produces hay and crops.

There are 4 people in Luke’s family. Luke enjoys raising rough stock and his favorite longhorn is a big steer named Chisholm. Luke has not shown cattle
but does enjoy their varied colors. Luke’s favorite time with his cattle is when they are all grazing in the high country. What a site that must be!!
He appreciates the natural instincts the longhorns display in a natural environment and feels that because they are a special interest breed, they will
be very stable in this ever changing cattle industry.

So, if you’re in the Sangudo area, call Eagle Mountain Ranching and check out Luke and his steer, Chisholm.

Terry and Barbara Wildman Wildman Ranches Westerose, Alberta
|
|
|
Terry and Barbara Wildman and the Wildman Ranch have been in the longhorn business for about 6 years. They purchased a bull from Ken and Charlotte
Beler and cows from John Duffy. They have about 40 animals in their herd and prefer white with black and brown patches in coloring. Terry and Barbara
enjoy every longhorn they have so a favorite is difficult to choose. They do love to watch the longhorns enjoy their feed on a cold winter day.

Terry and Barbara have two daughters: one in San Francisco and one in Calgary. They love to trail ride to the mountains, especially to the Ya Ha Tinda.
Terry also enjoys Team Roping while Barbara roping chute for Terry and his partners. They believe that the Texas Longhorns are a niche market and should
be promoted as such.

Give Wildman Ranch a call if you’re ever in the Westerose area.
